Venelia was an Amazon warrior from Themyscira.


Early life

Venelia was created as an Amazon warrior by Zeus just like her other sisters. She served her Queen Hippolyta for thousands of years.[1]

Apokoliptian invasion

During the invasion of Earth by the forces of Apokolips; the Amazons, Atlanteans, humans, Olympians and forces from other worlds united together to fight against the invaders. Venelia was part of the Amazon cavalry led by Queen Hippolyta and killed many Parademons, with the Apokoliptians forced to retreat after taking significant losses.[2][3]

Amazon Games

When Diana was young, she and Venelia competed against each other in the Amazon Games.[4]

Themysciran beach battle

Venelia participated in the battle against the German Army who invaded Themyscira. She was also present during the interrogation of Steve Trevor.[1]


During Steppenwolf's invasion of Themyscira, Venelia died after being hit by Steppenwolf's axe while trying to defend the Amazonian Mother Box.[2]

Powers and abilities


  • Amazon physiology: As an Amazon, Venelia possessed superhuman atrributes.
    • Superhuman strength: Venelia had a superhuman level of strength, which allowed her to quickly and easily defeat many invading German soldiers and kill several Parademons during the invasion of Steppenwolf.
    • Superhuman durability: Venelia had a level of durability before the trauma of forceful force. However, she could be wounded by bullets and other sharp and pointed objects, being finally killed by Steppenwolf's axe.
    • Superhuman agility: Venelia had a superhuman level of agility.
    • Longevity: Venelia lived for centuries without aging visibly.


  • Master combatant: Venelia was a very skilled fighter. She managed to defeat many German soldiers and several Parademons with her sword. However, she was no match for Steppenwolf and died quickly by a blow from the latter's axe.
  • Omnilingualism: Venelia, as an Amazon, has the ability to fluently speak, read, and understand all human languages (even currently dead ones, like Ancient Greek, Latin, Sumerian, or Ottoman Turkish), as well as to instinctively identify a language's name when seeing it's written form.
