In 1983, a bomb explosion occurred at the United States Capitol on November 7th of that year, prompting tighter security measures to those who toured the building. The event was reported by The Washington Times.

Superman attended a testimony at the Capitol after some have. Little did he or anyone else no that it was a ruse by the manipulative Lex Luthor. As the testimonies were about to start, a hidden bomb exploded, killing Finch, Keefe, and many others present. Parts of the U.S Capitol was heavily damaged in the aftermath.[1]
Reconstruction[]
However, the U.S Capitol was repaired sometime before the creation of Task Force X in 2016.[2]
