Thara was a Kryptonian who participated in a pilot training exercise in the jungles of Krypton for the Explorer Guild.

Thara was born on Krypton, and when she was old enough she joined the Kryptonian Explorer Guild to train as a pilot. For a mission, she was part of a team that was tasked with retrieving beacons for the Explorer Guild from the Kryptonian jungle. She went with team member Kara Zor-El, but they were split up as Kara heard the scream of Kell-Ur, who was dangling off the side of a cliff. Kara yelled out to Thara that she needed her ropes, but before Thara could arrive a snake bit Kell's hand and he fell to his death.[1]

- Kryptonian physiology: As a Kryptonian, Thara's bone structure was almost identical to that of a human. On a planet near a red class M main-sequence star, like her native Krypton with its sun Rao, Thara had physical attributes nearly identical to those of humans. However, if she were to travel to a planet near a yellow G-type main-sequence star, like Earth, she would have gained many incredible superpowers.
