Thanagar is the homeworld of the barbarian Thanagarian people.

Thanagar itself was referred to by a member of the Kryptonian Council of Five, referring to the Thanagarians as a barbaric race.[1]
Freddy Freeman was known to refer to Hawkman as 'The Imperial Prince of Thanagar' on at least one occasion.[2]

Inside a cave, Superman was confronted by a Thanagarian Snare Beast, which trapped him in its webs, but Superman was able to free himself using his heat vision and fought the creature.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- In DC Comics, Thanagar was the home planet of Katar Hol and Shayera Hol, Thanagarian warriors who traveled to Earth and were reincarnated throughout the centuries, known in modern times as Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
- Despite only being mentioned directly once in the DC Extended Universe, Thanagar is identifiable in other circumstances due to Thanagarians and Thanagarian Snare Beasts being mentioned.
