In ancient times, Shiruta was located in the northern approach to the gulf and nestled just south of the mountains. Its natural harbor made it a desirable position within the sea route, which made it a prime target for various rulers at different points in history. It was here that King Ahk-Ton launched an aggressive building program, forcing many individuals such as Teth-Adam and his son Hurut to participate in building these structures.[1]
