The Schaffenberger is an art gallery located in the Arts District, a neighborhood on the West Side of the Metropolis borough of New Troy. It displays a permanent collection of works from the 18th through 20th centuries and also has rotating exhibits of contemporary artists.
History[]
The Schaffenberger gallery was founded in 1899 by shipping tycoon Horace Schaffenberger, who wanted a place to house the paintings from Impressionist masters that he had acquired. The gallery became the foundation of the Arts District that took shape around it.[1]
