Attack on the Écureuil[]
In 2018, the French submarine Écureuil was attacked While the rest of the sailors were hiding in the torpedo bay, Aquaman intervened and took out all of the pirates before getting them to surface to deploy rafts. However, just as the evacuation was almost complete, David Kane confronted Aquaman, shooting a sailor in the arm in the process. However, he and Jesse was defeated, resulting in Jesse committing suicide to sink the submarine after his legs were pinned under a large torpedo, but not before telling David to kill Aquaman. The lone sailor was rescued and the surviving crew members were taken back to land.[1]
