The Rescue at the Philadelphia Museum of Art was a Shazam family mission to stop a group of heavily armored and armed art thieves who were robbing the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Background[]
While listening to a police scanner in class, Billy Batson and Freddy Freeman heard of a police blockade in response to a museum heist. The pair texted Darla, Eugene, Pedro, and Mary to meet at the lockers, where they transformed into their superhero alter-egos and headed for the museum.[1]
Rescue[]
The police were taking heavy fire from five gunners at the museum, while another two art thieves loaded paintings into a cart. The Shazam family arrived and quickly intervened. Billy shielded the police from the spray of a minigun while Eugene sent a bolt of lightning into the thieves. Darla and Pedro each took down a gunner by hand, Pedro bending the barrels of one of the miniguns in the process, and Mary and Freddy each took down another by smashing them with pieces of art from the museum.[1]
Aftermath[]
Darla stole a Picasso (presumably to return it later) and Mary smashed a large vase, but the robbery was foiled. The robbers were detained and the art was returned.[1]
