Rao appeared relatively dim, but colossal in the Kryptonian sky (due to the planet's relative proximity to its star), and under Rao's light, Krypton's sky usually had an orange hue during the day. In contrast to the Earth's sun, it was considered 5x larger, 60% less dense, with a surface temperature of 3317K. It was known to have been over 13 billion years of age, nearly as old as the universe itself.
