Park Row, infamously known by its nickname Crime Alley, is a theatre district in the Upper East Side of Gotham City. It is perhaps most well known as the location where Thomas and Martha Wayne were murdered by Joe Chill in 1981, just outside of the Aragon Theatre. As the tragedy changed young Bruce Wayne's life forever, Park Row can be seen as the birthplace of the Batman.
This district of Park Row has been given around-the-clock neighborhood watch by the GCPD since the murders, resulting in a dramatic dip in street crime. However, most Gothamites give all the credit to Batman for keeping them safe.[1]
History[]
The part of Park Row around the Aragon Theater was known as the "Crime Alley" because of the high rate of crime. This name became prominent after the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne, the parents of Bruce Wayne who would later become the Batman.[2]
