Octobots were weaponized vessels used by the Kingdom of Necrus. The Octobots were powered by the fuel Orichalcum, which almost caused a global meltdown when Kordax exploited it and declared war against Necrus and his own brother, Atlan. After the Necrus-Atlantis war, these Octobots were abandoned. Thousands of years later, the Kingdom of Necrus was discovered by David Kane and Dr. Stephen Shin along with the Octobots. Two of the Octobots were piloted by David Kane and Shin to steal more Orichalcum from an ancient Atlantean refinery, and when they went to free Kordax from his ice prison.
