North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), is a country in east Asia. Located on northern half of the Korean Peninsula, it is bordered to the south by South Korea.

During Lex Luthor's surveillance and investigation of Superman, one observation that Luthor made of Superman was his reluctance to intervene in political matters. In a conversation with Mercy Graves, he pointed out a nuclear weapons test being conducted by the government of North Korea as an example.[1]
During Amanda Waller's attempt to convince a military committee to approve her proposed "Task Force X", an officer in favor of Waller's plan noted that the United States had contingency plans for nuclear attacks from North Korea, but would not be able to stop a being of Superman's caliber.[2]
In 2017, an aggression was escalating on the border between North Korea and South Korea.[3][4]
