The Mission in Corto Maltese was a mission authorized by Amanda Waller to dispatch Task Force X to the small nation of Corto Maltese to assassinate tyrannical Maltese dictator Silvio Luna and eliminate all traces to the mysterious Project Starfish.
The mission was a success, resulting in the demise of Starro and the end of Luna's tyrannical regime, allowing rebel leader Sol Soria to take over the Maltese government and allow free elections.

After Silvio Luna and a group of military generals forcibly dethroned the Herrara Family in a coup and hanged them, he installed his own tyrannical military regime and seized power for himself and a former Nazi prison known as Jotunheim to his advantage, which contained prisoners for experimentation and the mysterious Project Starfish.[1]
