"I copy, captain." - ―Miele and Sophie Song[src]
In January 2021, the Evergreen Police Department arrived at Annie Sturphausen's location in an attempt to capture Peacemaker upon discovering that he murdered Sturphausen. In Smith's escape attempt, Miele would arrive at the scene as reinforcements to Sophie Song via one of the police cars, briefly establishing a radio communication with Song. The police department would mistakenly confuse Auggie Smith's fingerprints with Peacemaker's, after John Economos registered the Peacemaker's 1976 Ford Comet on his name.[1]
Relegated from her position[]
- "Where's captain Miele?"
"The mayor wasn't satisfied with her permormance on the Sturphausen murderer so I'm replacing her." - ―Sophie Song and Caspar Locke[src]
Following the failure of the Evergreen Police Department to apprehend Peacemaker for the murder of Annie Sturphausen, the city's mayor, supported by A.R.G.U.S., took the opportunity to demote Miele from her position as Captain to hand him over to Caspar Locke, who would go undercover for Amanda Waller and secretly aid Clemson Murn. Shortly after the replacement, Sophie Song would access the room where Miele previously worked to ask what was happening, surprising her, she would discover that Locke was the new captain, while he claimed that the mayor was not satisfied with Miele's performance.[2]
