The Metropolis Police Department (MPD) is the primary municipal police force responsible for law enforcement and investigation in the city of Metropolis.

The Metropolis Police Department was formed in 1776 and has been in operation since.[1]
Black Zero Event[]
In 2013, many first responders including a Metropolis Police Department officer was seen directing as many citizens to safety as possible during the chaos and destruction including Jenny Jurwich, Steve Lombard, and Perry White.[1]
Assault on Wayne Enterprises[]
After the Black Zero Event, a group of criminals broke into the Wayne Enterprises Facility in Metropolis using Kryptonian weapons. Superman stopped the criminals and handed them over to the police on the street.[2]
