Young[1] was the mayor of the city of Metropolis, Delaware shortly after the ononymous battle in 2013.[2]

The mayor showed initial praise for Superman's actions during the battle to the point of raising the idea of erecting a statue in Superman's honor.[3]

Sometime later the Daily Planet reported on the Mayor's growing concerns about the popularity of the brand of heroism associated with him and the vigilante Batman.[4]

In 2016, the Mayor announced that the Metropolis Police Department would be aiding its counterpart in Gotham City to help the new crime wave plaguing the neighboring city.[5]
