  • Hey Chris, hope you're well! I was hoping I might get your views on something - given our absence of a content moderator, how would you feel about me promoting ChrisGraslie? Looking at his contributions, he's made some really great edits over the past couple of years, even sticking to consistent formatting. He interacts well with other users, and he has mentioned his interest in such a position. Thoughts?

  • If a teammate dies are they still a part of that team? When Renee Montoya quit the GCPD, does that mean her life as a detective is erased completely? If Deadshot isn't gonna be in the new Suicide Squad movie, should he be removed from the Task Force X category? Or if Harley Quinn was kicked out of Joker's Gang was she no longer a member of Joker's Gang or that category? What do you think?

  • Hey there, Kiwichris! It has recently come to my attention that your fellow admin, MakeShift, has abruptly imposed this unprecedented rule where all nouns under the aforementioned section are to be in lowercase (regarding the 1st letter of the second noun, of course). He has also informed me that you have no particular viewpoint in this matter, but I would kindly urge you to please have one, so that I can settle the dispute I'm having with him (along with the disputes he's having with other editors who support this stance). But in order to do so, I am aware that I'll have to persuade you to the viewpoint of capitalising the nouns, so... here goes nothing:

Firstly, I think that capatilsing the nouns in question render them, along with their associated prose, for lack of better phrasing, aesthetically appealing; I can certainly attest to that and I'm sure many other editors would. It just does, doesn't it? In addition, if we follow this sudden change in policy, it would mean the reverting of virtually all character pages. MakeShift seems to think that readers who look at e.g. "Super Speed" will somehow mistakenly assume that it's a trademark name or something of the sort instead of a superpower, despite that phrase being clearly noted under the Powers header. Furthermore, he equates the capitalisation of these nouns to the capatilisation of random words in the middle of a sentence (his own words, you can check out my talk page, where this debate transpired) although the nouns in question are not in a sentence, but are somewhat labels that denote the attributes of a character. Several other editors, like Nomad16 and JohnnySparrow17, concur with this viewpoint, and it seems that only MakeShift, who abruptly announced this unforeseen policy despite years of editors of this wiki doing the practice of capatilising nouns, disagrees with this stance.

So, my question to you after this long-winded argument is whether you agree with the long-standing stance of capatilising the nouns, or this sudden, abrupt and unprecedented change that MakeShift has proposed and has already enacted. Thank you for reading this all, and I look forward to your response.

    • Yes I see what you are saying, however I was under the impression that section pertained only to the names of articles rather than the naming within them (it starts out with "Deciding how to title a page..." for example). Perhaps this is what is causing the confusion?

    • Ah I was generally pointing towards that in regards to that sort of grammar, as people seemed to be neglecting it as a general concept, but yes perhaps.

  • Hey Chris, it's been a while since we've properly talked, hope you're well! Just thought I'd let you know that I've recently joined Fandom's Wiki Manager team, under the Movies/TV vertical. You're probably familiar with TimeShade previously taking that role on the DCEU Wiki, but in the past couple of days we've swapped and I'll be looking after you guys into the future.

Also, while I'm at it, I might bring up Fandom's latest project, in case you're unfamiliar with it, the Unified Community Platform, or UCP. In how the UCP affects the general user, the project will seek to make editing and getting around wikis a whole lot easier, so it's nothing but an upgrade in terms of editing and content creation, and a bonafide benefit to all of us!

I'll be here during the whole process and well past it to help with any concerns you might have, so by all means don't hesitate to contact me if you need an assist! And of course, I'm still an admin here, so that isn't changing haha!

  • I need you to remove the Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) link from the upcoming films section and put on the released films section.

    It's on this template. https://dcextendeduniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Template:Films?diff=103770&oldid=103738

  • Do we do pages for canceled content? I'm wondering if it's worth creating a page about the score album for Birds of Prey, given that it's apparently been canceled. https://www.amazon.com/Birds-Prey-Fantabulous-Emancipation-Original/dp/B083XVZ46F

    • As it was officially announced and advertised we should keep the page, but make a note there of the cancellation.

    • Well, there is no page yet, but I'll make one. Thanks for clarifying.

    • P.S.: I made a couple of changes to the top navigation. I moved Birds of Prey from upcoming to released. I also added a listing for Birds of Prey under characters, but in order to do that I had to bump Man of Steel - apparently it won't let you display more than seven items. Hope you're okay with that - if not, feel free to just change it back.

  • I know this question is a year late but I was reading somewhere that when Aquaman played in NZ, people laughed at the eggs comment by Temuera Morrison. Was this a common occurrence?

    • Really? I hadn't heard that. In the screening I went to nobody did but it may have elsewhere.

  • Would you be okay with me creating a page about the soundtrack album for Birds of Prey? I've heard some buzz that it could be something that people are looking for. It was also suggested that we might add a Spotify widget to the homepage.

  • Hi! My name is ProfessorTofty, A.K.A. George, and I'm a member of Fandom's content team. Since you seem to be the only active admin here at the moment, I wanted to let you know that I'm currently assigned by Fandom to work on the upcoming film Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out and also if there's anything I should know. Otherwise, I look forward to updating information about the film here on the wiki, and keep an eye out for more updates soon!
