Mercury was a Roman God who had super speed (in the Greek pantheon, he was known as Hermes). His powers were granted to Teth-Adam and Billy Batson by the wizard Shazam.

Hermes was one of the Old Gods until he and the other gods was killed by the god of war Ares.
Legacy[]
Centuries after his death, his legacy lives on within the Rock of Eternity, the source of all magic. The wizard Shazam later bestowed his powers upon one champion who he found worthy to carry on his mantle and become one of the overseers of the Rock of Eternity. The Shazam Family was granted with his powers.[1]
