Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and one of the four terrestrial planets of the Solar System. Located in the Milky Way Galaxy, Mars is the home planet of the Martians.
History[]

Mars was once the home of several green-skinned, telepathic, shapeshifting beings known as Martians, with one such being traveling to Earth and posing under the guise of Secretary of Defense Calvin Swanwick.[1]
By 1999, it was commonly claimed that humanity had better maps of Mars than it did of Earth's ocean floor.[2]
When Kal-El activated the Kryptonian scout ship in the Arctic and took off, there were two visible screens, one of them seemingly a live feed, or picture of, the Martian surface.[3]
In 2021 a school in Evergreen had a diagram of the Solar system, including Mars.[4]
Behind the Scenes[]
- In the DC Comics universe, Mars, known by its inhabitants as "Ma'aleca'andra", is home to a race of sentient, psychic shapeshifters called Martians. They are split into two factions, the parasitic and malevolent White Martians, and the benevolent Green Martians.
- J'onn J'onnz, a Green Martian refugee of the planet, is typically one of the main members comprising the original Justice League roster, known as the Martian Manhunter.
- Mars is the name given to Ares by Romans.
