Kansas is a state in the midwestern United States of America. It is the location of the town of Smallville, the hometown of Superman.[1]

Early History[]

Lewis and Clark reached the territory that would become Kansas in 1804 during the westward expansion of the United States.[1] In 1831, the town of Smallville was founded, where the Kent Family settled and became farmers, establishing the Kent Farm.[1][2] Kansas was officially founded in 1854 and became the 34th state of the United States of America on January 29, 1861.[1]
20th Century[]
Arrival of Kal-El[]
The Kryptonian Kal-El, who later became known as Superman, crashed in the town of Smallville as a small child and was raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent.[1]
Kansas state championships[]
The Smallville Spartans High School football team won the Kansas state championships in 1990 and 1996.[3]

During the 2008 presidential election, Kansas voted Republican.[4]
