- ―Jenny Kord to Jaime Reyes[src]
Jennifer "Jenny" Kord is the daughter of former Kord Industries' CEO Ted Kord, and Jaime Reyes's love interest. After the disappearance of her father, Jenny came into conflict with her aunt Victoria Kord for wanting to get the Khaji-Da beetle, which she gave to Jaime Reyes, who chosen him, so Jenny, Jaime, and Rudy Reyes looked for a way to separate them. After Reyes' kidnapping on Pago Island, Jenny and the Reyes family banded together to save him, facing off against Victoria, wiping out all of Reyes' samples, Jenny took over Kord Industries and began a relationship with Reyes.

Early Life[]
Disappearance of Ted Kord[]

- "Your father abandoned this company. And he abandoned you."
- ―Victoria Kord to Jenny Kord[src]
Jenny Kord was born to Ted Kord and his wife, and settled on a farm outside Palmera City. When Ted Kord funded the research of his professor, Dan Garrett, they discovered a scarab-like alien artifact called Khaji-Da. Upon studying it, they concluded that to activate it, it must choose a host. However, Jenny's mother died when she was 6 years old, affecting Ted, who began to distance himself from his daughter to dedicate himself to his studies of the Scarab, disappearing from home for days at a time. As a result, little Jennifer, despite living well, often felt alone at home.

Jenny came to know about her father's studies. Unable to activate Khaji-Da on his own, her father used his intellect to develop his own technology, including gadgets, tools, suits, and vehicles to fight crime in the city under the alias Blue Beetle. Ted Kord eventually mysteriously disappeared without a trace, abandoning his daughter, with Jenny's aunt, Victoria Kord, taking over Kord Industries as CEO. Jenny was well-known on Instagram, where she posted photos, including one raising awareness for humanitarian aid in Africa.[2]
Conflict with Victoria Kord[]
Confronting Victoria Kord[]

Jenny learned that Victoria was seeking to revive Project OMAC, shifting the company's focus from humanitarian technology to military and defense applications. The breakthrough came when Victoria's team gained access to the Khaji-Da, seeking to merge alien biotechnology with human experimentation to create the final, fully armed version of Project OMAC.

Concerned about the company's about-face, Jenny visited Victoria Kord's Mansion to confront her, catching her off guard by turning on the television to an OMAC commercial, expressing her annoyance at resuming the project despite it having been canceled years before. Victoria tried to convince her that it was a step forward for the company, but when Jenny asked what was on Pago Island, Victoria assured her it was confidential, inviting her to the party she was hosting, promising it would be fun.
Kord confronts her aunt.
Jenny was upset with her aunt for returning to manufacturing weapons, which infuriated Victoria when she heard her implying she was part of the company, viewing her as an expense, and complaining to Ted Kord for disappearing and nearly destroying the company with his reckless inventions. Jenny, however, confronted her aunt, assuring her that she wasn't afraid of her, but Victoria threatened her to leave, before they were interrupted by employee Jaime Reyes, who, overhearing the conversation, tried to intervene, and was fired by Victoria along with his sister for snooping.

Jaime and his sister stayed to wait to be picked up, and when Jenny came out to leave, Reyes tried to talk to her, hitting on Victoria, which Jenny liked, shaking his arms and apologizing for what had happened, and asked Reyes to go to the Kord tower to try to get her another job at the company, giving him her phone number.[2]
Theft of Khaji-Da[]

Aware of Victoria's true plans and the global danger that releasing technology like Khaji-Da under military control would represent, Jenny decided to take action to steal the Scarab from Kord Tower. Learning that scientist José Morales had taken a break, leaving the Scarab alone in the lab, Jenny, disguised as a science employee and with her face covered, infiltrated the tower's corridors, bumping into Morales to steal his keycard and enter the room. Once inside, Kord removed her mask and began searching for the scarab, finding it on a table where energy was being extracted, taking it to put it in Morales hamburger box.

Kord removed her scientist outfit to walk normally through Kord Tower. As she took the elevator down, Jenny was spotted by Jaime Reyes, who had come to meet her and get a job, trying to get her attention. When Reyes met with Kord, Jenny asked him to hurry, and Reyes insisted he needed the job, although Jenny told him it wasn't the right time. Morales had noticed the theft and ordered the building locked down to prevent the attacker from escaping

Jenny saw that many security guards were on alert, in an act of desperation and knowing Reyes was willing to do anything, Kord handed him the box, telling him to protect it with his life, but not to open it or look inside. After handing over the box, Kord walked discreetly, knowing she was being watched by security cameras.[2]
Meeting with Jaime Reyes[]
Kord is picked up by Jaime Reyes from the Kord Tower.
- "It’s called the Scarab. It was given to my dad when I was a kid, um… It’s some kind of a world destroying weapon."

Jenny was soon discovered, so she contacted Reyes to pick her up at Kord Tower, without warning him of the risk of a shootout by OMAC guards. Reyes drove toward the facility when he suddenly saw Jenny hiding among parked vehicles. Confused but concerned, Jaime called her, and she desperately jumped into the car, frantically urging him to drive. Startled by the gunfire coming from the pursuing soldiers, Reyes sped off, anxiously fearing Rudy's reprimand for the inevitable damage to the car.

Upon driving her home, the family gathered in the kitchen and welcomed Jenny into their home, while experiencing an awkward moment due to Rudy Reyes's shouting about the damage to the vehicle, and to break the tension, Alberto Reyes offered to give Kord a glass of water, but Kord politely declined. Jenny tried to introduce herself to Rudy, but he reprimanded her, prejudging her by believing she wanted to turn his house into a nuclear power plant, surprising Kord, who asked Jaime to see the Scarab, an opportunity that Rudy took advantage of to try to throw his boot to Jaime with anger, which led his family to rebuke him for his behavior. Kord and the Reyes family saw the Scarab stuck behind Jaime's back, disgusting everyone.
Kord explains the Scarab's nature to the Reyes family.
Jenny explained that the Scarab belonged to her father, Ted Kord, being a dangerous weapon of destruction and how Scarab had chosen Jaime as her host, warning her that her aunt Victoria Kord was willing to kill the family at the expense of recovering the sacrab, worrying them, assuring them that she did not expect the artifact to activate. Alberto encouraged the family to overcome the situation, and more calm, Kord explained that to separate Jaime's Scarab, they should infiltrate the Kord tower to acquire a key, encouraging Rudy to accompany Jaime and Kord since he was working on a device that could be useful.[2]
Skirmish at Kord Plaza[]

"I have no idea." - ―Jenny Kord and Jaime Reyes[src]
Upon arriving at Kord Plaza, Jaime and Jenny saw Rudy's mechanism, El Chapulín, turning it on with Kord's help by flipping a switch, hacking into Kord Industries' security cameras with a transmission from El Chapulín Colorado, allowing Jaime and Jenny to enter. Inside the facility, Jenny set out to find the key while explaining to Reyes how her father had inherited the company and Victoria's obsession with erasing Ted's legacy. Upon finding the key, Jenny asked Jaime to help her hold the glass, allowing her to steal the Ted Watch.
Kord gets shocked to see Jaime Reyes transform.
As they were leaving happy that Rudy's plan had worked, they ran into Ignacio Carapax who asked for the scarab, but as Carapax ran to hit Reyes, the scarab stopped him with Jaime's arm, activating the armor to counterattack Carapax by hitting him against a statue, surprising Jenny, who asked him how he did it, to which Jaime replied that he had no idea. An angry Carapax activated his armor, launching a missile towards Reyes, which sparked a battle against Reyes and Khaji-Da, where Jaime asked Kord to go get Rudy.

Kord suddenly surprised Rudy Reyes, alerting him that Jaime was in danger, causing them both to head towards him to help him, but they had to duck when Carapax fired towards the car. When Carapax tried to crush Jaime, Jenny and Rudy trew El Chapulín against Carapax, throwing him against a truck, which knocked him down and allowed them to rescue Jaime. During their escape, Reyes transformed back naked and after putting on a shirt, Jaime revealed to feel the Scarab's real name, Khaji-Da, due to the bond they formed in battle, and Jenny led Rudy to drive to the Kord Estate.[2]
Return to the Kord Estate[]

In the morning, the trio arrived at the Kord Estate, where Jenny used the Ted Watch to open the secret passageway, descending the stairs to reach the Bug Lair, surprising Rudy Reyes by discovering that Ted Kord was Blue Beetle. Jaime was surprised by the hangar and Jenny explained how her father could never activate the Beetle, so he created his own technology to become the Blue Beetle, watching as Rudy prepared to do research on the computer. Since Jaime had a dirty shirt, Kord asked him to accompany her to change into her father's clothes. After Reyes showered, Jenny asked him if everything was okay.
Kord shares a moment with Jaime Reyes
After getting dressed, Reyes went outside to talk to Kord about growing up on the estate, but Kord mentioned feeling lonely, showing him a painting of her mother, who had died when she was a child, with Jaime mourning her death and asking about her. Kord explained that she was wonderful and how she had changed her father's morals to protect the world, but when her mother died, her father became obsessed with the scarab until he disappeared. Jenny became emotional, admiring Jaime's family for loving him, breaking down in tears as she didn't usually talk about her parents. Reyes was sympathetic to her, almost sharing a kiss before being interrupted by Rudy, who found some information.

Inside the hangar, Kord and Jaime listened to Rudy talk about how Ted Kord had a professor named Dan Garrett, who studied the scarab only to discover that it connected to Jaime's brain and became sentient. When Jaime asked how to eliminate it, Rudy mentioned that it only left its host when it died, showing how the Scarab had fused with its cells, which frustrated Jaime. Jenny tried to apologize for not knowing, but an upset Jaime decided to go for a walk, and when Kord tried to support him, Rudy went to talk to his nephew for her, because he knew where Jaime was going.[2]
Attack on the Reyes Household[]
- "I might know where he is. Please. Come with me. I can help."
- ―Jenny Kord and Jaime Reyes[src]
Jenny was forced to interrupt Rudy and Jaime's conversation to warn them about Victoria Kord's helicopter passing overhead, at which Jaime realized they were approaching the house. Attempting to activate his armor to fly away and save his family, Jaime held his arms out in vain, with Jenny urging him to take his time and Jaime telling him to force it out, giving Jaime the idea to jump off the cliff knowing the scarab would always protect him, rushing to jump despite Rudy and Jenny's concern, but activating the armor to fly home.
Kord discovers the Reyes Household engulfed in flames.
Quickly, Kord and Rudy Reyes arrived at Edge Keys, discovering the house engulfed in flames, worrying Rudy when he saw Alberto Reyes suffering from a heart attack, so he asked Kord to call an ambulance, observing with horror the kidnapping of Jaime by Victoria Kord, who saw Jenny and mockingly said goodbye to her. Despite the efforts of the doctors, Alberto succumbed to his heart attack and died in the ambulance, causing great sadness to the family. Nana Reyes gathered her family and motivated them to rescue Jaime from Victoria, however, uncertain of where Jaime was, Jenny joined them to discover Victoria's base on Pago Island, asking them to follow her.[2]
Rescue of Jaime Reyes[]

"Fully operational OMAC systems. Enough to build an entire army." - ―Milagro Reyes and Jenny Kord[src]
Jenny led the Reyes family to the Bug Lair to search for the Bug Ship, which Rudy Reyes drove, scaring them as it took off at high speed. Along the way, Kord then led them through Ted Kord's devices stored on the ship, where Milagro Reyes was struck by the gum, which Kord explained was a chemical prototype of her father's, and when Milagro tried on the Bug Shield, Kord told her he could transform it into a glove at the push of a button, watching Nana pick up a machine gun, who revealed she knew how to use it.
Kord explains where Jaime was imprisoned.
During a crucial planning session, Kord showed a hologram and explained that Jaime was locked up on Pago Island. Nana asked to see a shaft in the center, getting excited to find a strategic tunnel in the building's blueprints, planning to use them as distractions while Milagro and Jenny went straight to the complex to blow them up and knock out power. After crashing the Bug Ship onto the island, Rudy attacked several Kord soldiers with the ship's legs. With the threat at bay, Jenny and Milagro opened the hatch to descend into an abandoned bunker using a rope, following the GPS directions.

However, they soon heard footsteps of soldiers, forcing them to hide in the corridors, where Milagro stumbled upon an OMAC device, which Jenny discovered was a fully operational system capable of raising an army, overwhelming Jenny due to Victoria's ambitions. Milagro and Jenny managed to plant the bombs that allowed Jaime to break free from Victoria's control, running as the facility crumbled. As the rubble was about to fall on them after Carapax breaks down the door that José Morales locked and was separating Jaime during his escape, Jenny attempted to warn Milagro, but they were separated, worrying Milagro.[2]
Battle at Pago Island[]

While Jaime Reyes was fighting against Kord's soldiers, Jenny was found by Victoria and her henchmen in the rubble after the explosion to save Jaime, being reprimanded by her aunt for the damage caused and being taken hostage. When Ignacio Carapax was fighting against Jaime Reyes, Jenny was taken by Victoria by helicopter to escape from the battle on Pago Island. Jenny warned her aunt that the OMAC had failed, but she corrected her by saying that Carapax was only a prototype and that with the code obtained they could build many more, seeing it as the culmination of her career and the legacy of the Kord family, something Jenny refused to accept.

Victoria however was unable to understand why Jenny was siding with the Reyes family instead of her own, so Jenny stated to her that they, unlike her, did understand family love, infuriating Victoria, who grabbed a submachine gun and threatened Jenny, annoyed at how they underestimated her and complaining about Ted Kord's management, comparing Jenny to her father in terms of irresponsibility, then pointing the gun at her. As Victoria once more insults Jenny that she wished Ted were there to see this, Jenny agreed in a rebuking manner in Portuguese.

Suddenly, Jenny surprised her aunt by spitting out a chemical chewing gum that began to expand and fill the helicopter with bubbles. Jenny tried to snatch the machine gun from her, but she resisted and fired to defend herself, only to kill the pilots and cause the helicopter to lose control. Jenny and Victoria were covered in gum, falling off the helicopter and safely landing on the ground as the gum fell apart, allowing them both to survive while the helicopter crashes and explodes. Jenny soon got up with her aunt lying on the ground, having already snatched the scarab code from her aunt during the helicopter's freefall, and when Victoria demands her niece to give her the code, Jenny drops the tablet to the ground and stomped on it, foiling Victoria's plans and finally fulfilling her vengeance for her aunt's cruelty.

Despite Victoria Kord's orders to Ignacio Carapax to kill Reyes and Jenny, Carapax let Jaime and Jenny escape after discovering Victoria's tampering with him, sacrificing himself to kill Kord by overloading his system. Jenny rushed to the Bug Ship shortly before the explosion, while Jaime stayed to say goodbye to Carapax. When Jaime jumped into the ship, Jenny grabbed him and saved him, helping him get inside and flying out through the blast. Inside the ship and out of danger, a distraught Jenny joined the Reyes family in hugging them.[2]
Director of Kord Industries[]
Relationship with Jaime Reyes[]
Kord addresses the media after taking over as CEO.
- "I want to see my mother's paintings again. I forgot how beautiful they are."
"Cool. What if I give you ride?" - ―Jenny Kord and Jaime Reyes[src]
Following the battle, Kord Industries was left in chaos, with most of its paramilitary infrastructure destroyed or disabled, with Jenny assuming control of the company and initiating a widespread overhaul, canceling all defense-related projects and following her father's legacy, Kord reestablished ethical innovation. Jenny was interviewed by the media, where she publicly expressed the loss of Victoria Kord and stated that the company would abandon weapons manufacturing as she sought to honor Ted Kord's legacy.
Kord talks with Jaime Reyes about returning to the Kord Estate.
When the family organized a funeral for Alberto Reyes, Jenny rode her motorcycle to Edge Keys for an unexpected visit, revealing that no homes in Edge Keys would be demolished and that theirs would be repaired, stating that the company would learn from the neighbors, which would make the family happy. Kord, also feeling sorry for the damage to The Taco, gifted Rudy Reyes a new blue Tacoma, surprising him with the car's blue color. As Jenny had to leave, Jaime arranged to accompany her, Jenny explained that she wanted to return to the Kord Estate to see her mother's paintings, and Jaime offered to drive her, before sharing a kiss with Jaime. They both smiled at the sight of the Reyes family celebrating their relationship, before he flew her to the estate.[2]
Personality[]
Jenny Kord is intelligent, idealistic, carismatic and determined, embodying the compassionate heart of the Kord legacy. From a very young age, Jenny was deeply affected by the death of her mother, which also caused her father to distance from her and dedicate himself to his studies with the Scarab, which, despite living well, made her feel alone at home without a family to take care of her. As the daughter of Ted Kord, former CEO of Kord Industries, Jenny was deeply disillusioned by the direction the company took under her aunt Victoria Kord’s leadership.
Unlike her relatives in corporate power, Jenny believed in using technology to uplift and protect people, not to weaponize it for profit. Jenny is empathetic and courageous, unafraid to go against her own family to do what is morally right, driving her to steal the Scarab in order to prevent its misuse. She consistently put herself in danger to help Jaime Reyes and his family, showing that her bravery comes from conviction, not strength.
Despite her privileged upbringing, Jenny is grounded and approachable. She forms a quick bond with Jaime, appreciating his values and selflessness, and proves to be a loyal ally throughout his transformation into the Blue Beetle. Her technical knowledge, inherited from her father’s innovative spirit, complements her leadership qualities, making her an important strategist and moral guide in the conflict against Victoria and the OMAC program. At her core, Jenny is driven by a desire to reclaim her father’s legacy and redefine Kord Industries as a force for good. Her resilience, empathy, and quiet strength make her an integral part of Jaime’s journey and a leader in her own right.
