The Infiltration into Central City Research Center was a successful attempt by Barry Allen, with the objective of making his younger self gain his powers and avoid creating a paradox in the timeline created after preventing the death of his mother.
Background[]
- "It's not entirely your fault, Barry. I pushed you out of the Chronobowl on that September 29th so you could start me on this path. How do you like our endless paradox? I made you create me."

After arriving in the new timeline after being pushed from the Chronobowl to 2013 by a mysterious speedster, Barry Allen entered to his old home and had an emotional reunion with his mother. He along with his 2 parents had dinner together for a few minutes until the Barry from this timeline appeared outside the Allen residence.
Barry warns his younger self about that there could not be a future.
Afraid that his parents would see two Barrys at the same place, Barry lied to his parents and ran outside to stop his younger self who fainted when he saw that the two had the same face. Barry took him to his room where once he woke up, he explained everything about him.
After a short talk, Barry realized that if his younger self didn't get the powers, he could lose them, which would mean he would lose his way to go back to the future, so he took him to the Central City Research Center.[1]

Entering the Center[]
- "We walk through the door."
"Yes, it's okay. It's called phasing.[...]"

The Barrys enter inside the center.
Upon arriving and seeing that the main door was closed, Barry carried his younger self on his arms and phased through the door with him. Young Barry was amazed by the action of his older self but the latter asked him to be quiet since there were several guards inside the center. The two walked silently through the center until they reached a glass door in which Barry picked up his younger self again to phase through it, but once they phased through it, the door opened automatically.[1]
The accident[]
- "This is where i was sitting. [...] I had just opened those windows to clear out the fumes. [...] And i was sitting in that chair, and i was right under this shelf of chemicals. And that's when the lightning hits."

The Barrys after the lightning struck them.
Once inside the laboratory where everything happened, Barry pulled his younger self closer to a chair and took off his jacket, to which the younger Barry thanked him. Then, Barry opened the window and sat his younger self in the chair and then approached it to a shelf of chemicals. Once the younger Barry realized that he was going to be electrocuted by the chemicals, he began to get scared and stopped sitting in the chair but his older self stopped him. The two began to fight until unexpectedly, the lightning struck and hit the older Barry, causing him to lose a tooth while passing through it and then hitting his younger self who opened his mouth, letting the older Barry's fallen tooth enter inside.[1]
Escaping from the Center[]
- "It looks like you lost a tooth."
"Oh."

After the lightning struck them, the two Barrys were laying almost unconscious on the floor as a alarm started to sound. Barry opened his eyes and saw how a wound left by the lightning that struck his younger self was healed instantly, realizing that he had just obtained his powers. The young Barry spit out a tooth from his mouth which the older Barry believed was his younger self's, only to realize it actually belonged to him. After sticking the missing teeth with a rubber band on his mouth, Barry and his younger self began to escape from the research center, with the younger Barry being almost unconscious.
The guards, alerted by what happened, went to investigate the laboratory, with one of them securing the entrance to the center. Barry hid from them and realized that he should phase to escape the place, however, when trying to do so, he instead crashed into a wall and dropped his younger self from his arms as he fell to the floor. Barry tried to run to see if he still had his powers but he would soon realize that he had just lost them, which terrified him. Barry and his younger self would then escape the place somehow.[1]
Aftermath[]
- "Barry, the accident gave you powers, but took mine away. So, I don't know how i get back. Without access to the Speed Force, I don't know how I ever leave. Do you understand what im saying? I might be stuck."

Barry gets excited by his new powers.
Barry took his younger self to his apartment where he began to explain to him what had just happened, telling him that he had just lost his powers but that him got them. Then, the young Barry realized that he now had powers and started playing with them, running at the speed of light all over his room. His older self tried to stop him but it was too late, the younger Barry had escaped to the streets of Central City. Barry was happily running through the streets of Central City, passing behind several cars and stealing a man's burrito who was about to eat it. However, his happiness was little doubted when he realized that his clothes were beginning to burn. Scared, Barry tried to stop but instead crashed into a pole and fell in the middle of a track where chaos began.
The 18-year-old gets up and sees a truck about to hit him. The truck, seeing Barry, tries to brake and instead lies down. A car accidentally crashes into the truck, causing everything inside to fly out, revealing to be several musical instruments. Barry begins to take off his clothes as he is on fire while another car crashes into the truck. From the truck, a piano is thrown which causes another car to try to stop but instead it swerves and hits a pole which collapses and falls on top of a fireworks truck. Barry continues undressing himself while the fireworks from that car begin to explode. All the people around start running away in fear while Barry notices that he is naked and becomes too embarrassed. After the chaos, a tambourine would bounce close to Barry, so he would use it to hide his privates. Barry would then run to his apartment where his older self would ask him what happened on the streets of Central City.
After a short talk in which the young Barry was too hungry, he finally fell asleep, with the older Barry saying that tomorrow they could start practicing the use of his new powers.[1]
