Gor is a Kryptonian war criminal and a member of the Sword of Rao, a terrorist group led by General Dru-Zod.[1]

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Gor was once a member of the Kryptonian Warrior Guild. At some point of his life, Gor became joined the Sword of Rao, a Kryptonian terrorist group that sought to overthrow the Council of Five.[1][2]

Kryptonian Civil War[]

The Sword of Rao engaged in a brutal battle, but they ultimately failed, resulting in Gor and his surviving fellow insurgents being sentenced to 300 years of semitic reconditioning in the Phantom Zone. Soon after, Krypton imploded, rendering the Kryptonians on the brink of extinction and releasing Gor and his comrades from their imprisonment.

War against Mankind[]

After their release, the Sword of Rao made way to Earth to find Kal-El, who possessed the Growth Codex that could restart the Kryptonian species, but planned to terraform the planet and wipe out its inhabitants. On the way, they visited former colonial outposts to gather weaponry and a World Engine.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The character of Gor is not specifically identifiable in Man of Steel and is only identified and pointed out in the novelization. However, the scene in the film where Zod and his followers are sentenced, show all ten of his followers in the background, with all ten of those followers accounted for being sent with Zod to the Phantom Zone. Thus it would be logical to presume that Gor was one of the three male followers in the crowd whose identity was never fully ascertained.
