Stryker's Island is an uninhabited prison[1] island, located five miles west of Gotham City and five miles east of Metropolis, in between the two cities.

Battle with Doomsday[]

When the United States government attempted to take Doomsday out with a nuclear missile, he crash landed on Stryker's Island, leaving a burning swath of debris all around the crash site. Doomsday then began to use the energy he had absorbed from the blast to start regenerating and growing in mass and power. Just as Doomsday released another wave of strong energy, the Batwing passed over the island and narrowly missed Doomsday's heat blasts. Batman then attempted to lure Doomsday back to Gotham City to kill him with the Kryptonite Spear.[2]

When James Gordon had intel on the alien invasion, he showed the Justice League a map including Stryker's Island, where Cyborg noted was the convergence point of the S.T.A.R. Labs kidnappings. He deduced that was where Steppenwolf was holed up, interrogating the scout ship team, who had been near his Mother Box.[3]

- In DC Comics, Stryker's Island is a maximum security federal prison that serves the city of Metropolis and housed some of the worst offenders that Superman has dealt with.
- While not mentioned in any other sources, Freddy's Guide to Super Hero-ing refers to Stryker's Island as a prison, like the comics.[1]
- The theatrical cut of Justice League renames Stryker's Island as Braxton Island with no explanation for the name change. This was likely done to distance the film from its predecessor, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as Stryker's Island was the location of the final battle with Doomsday in that film. In Zack Snyder's Justice League, the name Stryker's Island is restored.
- Stryker's Island and its original comics incarnation is likely to be a reference to the real-life prison island of Rikers Island located in the East River, serving as New York City's main jail complex
