Cyclotron Don is the fifth episode of the first season of The Flash: Escape the Midnight Circus. The episode was written and directed by Henry Loevner, and was released on Max on July 10, 2023.
Synopsis[]
Captain Cold demonstrates a new skill. Meanwhile, Barry gets a surprise visitor. Okay, fine, it's his dad.
Plot[]
Pied Piper was playing jazz on the flute and was applauded for his performance, but Captain Cold began to rap, being cheered on by the audience and winning against Pied Piper, so Pied Piper was taken to be executed while Cold went to the finals to face Allen and West. Cat Grant went to congratulate Barry Allen for getting this far and announced that he was going to be part of a game, but Allen was disappointed with them for forcing people to kill each other for entertainment, when Allen wanted to leave, Grant told him that they had a gift for him for his achievements, being a visit from his father Henry Allen.
Henry Allen went to see if his son was okay, revealing that he called TV 10 times to be allowed to come see him, Barry asked his father how he got out of prison pretending to be the original Barry and not remember, with Henry mentioning that Murmur declared mass pardons, Henry thought that Barry had lost his memory from hitting Top and looked for a doctor but Barry calmed him down saying that he was just tired. Henry told him that he wouldn't be able to watch the finals, Barry asked his father if he fantasized about going back in time and changing things, with Henry answering affirmatively. Barry then asked another question about whether to be with Nora Allen again he would have to be an alternate version of her and Henry didn't know what to answer, until the guard asked Henry to leave as his time was up, with Henry asking his son to stay strong.
At the final showdown, with the hosts presenting the Mirror World, a maze controlled by Mirror Master, in which the contestants had to escape to win. As he walked looking for the exit Allen hummed to calm himself, meeting the Mirror Master and the Child Mirror Master, presenting him with several questions and he had to guess which one allowed him to escape, being able to ask something for yes or no. Allen came to the conclusion which of the doors was the correct one, guessing it but hearing Iris West call for help in the distance, who was kidnapped by Captain Cold and ambushed Allen.
