"The humans turned against us."
Enchantress[src]

The Coup on Enchantress and Incubus was the defeat of Enchantress and Incubus when a faction of an ancient civilization rebelled against both entities, ending their reign on Earth.

Background[]

"But they worshiped us. We were gods to them."
Incubus to Enchantress[src]

Millennia ago, Enchantress and Incubus, interdimensional beings who arrived in a region of South America in prehistoric times, were worshipped as gods by several pre-Columbian civilizations as a result of their mystical powers.[1]

Coup[]

As Enchantress and Incubus ruled the region for centuries, some of their subjects banded together to rebel against and overthrow their former gods, resulting in the two being imprisoned in two artifacts that were kept in the Tres Osos Caves, located in present-day Peru.[1]

Aftermath[]

"She opened something she shouldn't have. Releasing a metahuman more powerful than any we've encountered: Enchantress."
Amanda Waller[src]

Separated from human civilization, Enchantress and Incubus were forgotten from history, as humanity began to build their own societies without the presence of divine influences, eventually creating their own religions.

June Moore becoming Enchantress

Moone is possesed by Enchantress.

In 2015, archaeologist June Moone entered into the Tres Osos Caves, where she stumbled upon the Enchantress' Artifact, unwittingly awakening the Enchantress and causing her to become possessed by the entity. As a result, the American agency A.R.G.U.S. investigated the Tres Osos Caves, discovering and safeguarding the Incubus' Artifact.[1]
