The Chase towards Cairo was a deal between Max Lord and Said Bin Abydos that turned into a combative race toward Cairo, with Max desperately fleeing Diana and Steve Trevor.
Background[]
Max Lord traveled to Egypt, intending to use his new Dreamstone ability to grant a wish for Said Bin Abydos and take his oil fields in exchange, greatly expanding his success with Black Gold Cooperative. The emir's wish was to regain control of his Bialyan ancestral lands, which Max granted, causing a forty-foot tall divine wall to erupt from the Earth, enclosing the lands near Cairo.
When Max told the Emir he would take his oil in exchange, the Emir laughed in his face, informing him that he'd already sold his oil to the Saudis. Max took the Emir's security detail instead, and headed toward Cairo.
Meanwhile, Steve Trevor and Diana Prince had arrived in Cairo to stop Max from using the powers of the Dreamstone. They headed toward the emir's palace in a taxi, but passed Max and his new security detail on the way. They purchased their taxi from the driver, let him out, and gave chase.[1]

Aftermath[]
When the dust settled, Max Lord had escaped into Cairo. The forty-foot divine wall stood strong, cutting the population of Cairo from their water supply, and Max headed to the nearest person he could find who owned oil land.
As a result of the emir's wish, the Soviet Union agreed with his claim to the land, but the United States, as an ally of Egypt, declared their intention to side with the Egyptian government, and tensions between both superpowers began to grow bigger than they already were.[1]
