Trivia[]
- In the comics, Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman, is a morally ambiguous antihero, acting as an adversary, a crimefighter and also a love interest for the Batman.
- The comic Shazam! Fury of the Gods Special: Shazamily Matters includes various in-universe marketing ephemera relating to characters including Catwoman. However, it was never addressed if these characters do exist in-universe or are just fictional characters created by the marketing in-universe.
Behind the Scenes[]
- Catwoman in the DC Extended Universe continues the live-action incarnation of the character from William Dozier's Batman and Batman: The Movie from DC Entertainment, who was portrayed by Lee Meriwether.
- Zack Snyder originally planned to include Catwoman in the DC Extended Universe to be portrayed by Carla Gugino. The character of Selina would've been married to Bruce Wayne, but would've eventually divorced him 10 years prior to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder also had planned for Bruce and Selina to reunite sometime before the events of the final Justice League movie, due to Batman's ultimate sacrifice that would be made at the climax of the third film.[2]
- After the events of The Flash, Catwoman would've first been introduced in the DC Extended Universe as a variation of the one seen in Batman Returns, which was played by Michelle Pfeiffer. In Batgirl, her cowl would've been seen in the Gotham City Police Department, setting up her future appearance in a Batman Beyond film.
