Burke Breyer is the brother of Brett Breyer who, along with his brother, tormented Freddy Freeman.
Biography[]
Bullying Freddy Freedman[]
Burke and his brother eventually became bullies towards Freddy Freeman, harassing him about his foster family. In turn, they found enemies in Freddy's foster family.
At the end of the school day, Burke and Brett drive into Freddy Freeman and hit him. As they try to bully and beat him, Freddy's foster siblings try to stand up for him but are unsuccessful. After initially walking away from the family, Billy Batson returns, stands up to the bullies, and hits them with Freddy's crutch. The Breyer brothers gave chase and Billy ran into a subway station and boarded a train, narrowly escaping the bullies.[1][2]
The morning after Billy gained his powers, the bullies parked their truck in front of the school before walking away. A few seconds later, the truck disappeared, and they tried to figure out what happened to it. Then, the truck suddenly fell from the air, damaging the car. The brothers stood there in absolute shock, as Freddy casually came over.
The next day at school, the bullies harassed Freddy and Billy again until Freddy tells them he knows the new hero "red cyclone" - they don't believe him, but he promises and tells them that he'll get him to show up to lunch tomorrow.[1]
Battle at the Chilladelphia Winter Carnival[]
Brett and Burke on the Ferris Wheel
Later that night, he and Brett are at the Chilladelphia Winter Carnival on the Ferris Wheel around the same time the Shazam Family arrive, trying to hide from Thaddeus Sivana. They are at the top of the Ferris Wheel right when Sivana arrives, floating above the crowd of people, trying to look for Billy. A few seconds later, Sivana uses the Staff of the Gods to malfunction the Ferris Wheel, causing the wheel to sort of tip over and the Breyer brothers to panic.
As the Ferris Wheel goes to tip over, Freddy flies in and saves the last two people on it; the Breyer bullies, giving them "suitcase wedgies" in the process.[1][3]
Meeting Shazam and Superman[]
Later at lunch, he and Brett walk into the cafeteria, passing Freddy and mocking him about waiting for his "imaginary BFF", as he did not show up earlier. Not too long after, Billy arrives to sit with Freddy in his Shazam form, which surprises the Breyer brothers and the kids in the cafeteria. Then, Superman shows up, also surprising them.
