Robert DuBois, codenamed Bloodsport, is a contract killer who was hired to kill Superman with a Kryptonite bullet, a mission he was unsuccessful in. He was incarcerated in Belle Reve and became a member of the second Task Force X strike team sent to Corto Maltese.[2]

Early Life

Robert DuBois was an expert marksman who became the paid assassin known as Bloodsport. He married and had a daughter named Tyla, but he left his wife for unknown reasons.

Attempted Assassination of Superman

Bloodsport attempted to assassinate Superman with bullets forged from Kryptonite; however, this attempt was unsuccessful and he was incarcerated in Belle Reve, presumably by Superman himself, where he joined Task Force X.[3]

Suicide Mission to Corto Maltese

In 2021, Bloodsport traveled to Corto Maltese with the second of two Task Force X strike teams to destroy Nazi-era laboratory and holding facility Jotunheim and assassinate ruthless Maltese dictator Silvio Luna.[3]

Bloodsport seems to take his Task Force X membership seriously, as if he'd like to be finished with it and move on with his life. He's confident and tough, with flexible morality and a clear understanding of the mission's stakes.

  • Expert marksman: As a paid assassain, Bloodsport has impeccable aim and is a master of murder with guns.

  • Suit: Robert DuBois wears a specially designed tactical suit to protect himself during jobs and missions, as well as protect his identity and hold various weapons.
  • Kryptonite bullets: Bloodsport used these bullets to shoot Superman.
  • Multi-barrelled guns: Alongside many weapons and gadgets held in and on his suit, DuBois sports a pair of guns with multiple barrels he uses for missions and jobs.

Behind the scenes

  • Nathaniel Perry was a stunt double for Idris Elba in the role of Bloodsport.
  • Bloodsport in the DC Extended Universe is the second live-action incarnation of the character, following an incarnation portrayed by David St. Louis.
  • Idris Elba was originally cast in the role of Deadshot, replacing Will Smith; however, Warner Bros. and James Gunn decided to re-write the character into Bloodsport in order to allow Will Smith to return in future movies.
