The Attack on Auggie Smith was the attempted murder of Peacemaker's father, August Smith by Adrian Chase after he was arrested.

While Peacemaker was visiting his father, Auggie Smith, who was framed by John Economos to be incarcerated Evergreen Corrections Center, his two friends, Leota Adebayo and Adrian Chase became concerned about Smith's condition by attempting to reconcile with his abusive father, upsetting Adebayo, acknowledging that Smith was someone good, unlike Auggie, as he had no love inside him, indirectly manipulating Chase that Smith would be happy if August was killed, something Chase agreed to, withdrawing from the place to pursue his idea.

Determined to make his friend happy and free him from his father's evil, Chase sought a way to be arrested at the prison and brought before August to initiate his plan, so he caught the attention of the Evergreen Police Department, breaking a window at the police station, taunting Officers Johnson and Peggy Sacks, quickly causing his incarceration by destroying private property, causing Chase to be incarcerated in the prison along with August, but it was all part of his plan to attack August in his attempt to kill him.[1]

Knowing Auggie Smith's background as the White Dragon, Chase met with him and his Aryan Empire fanatics, pretending to want to befriend the toughest, mocking the Aryans, and playing with them to talk about a specific topic: African Americans, angering Steve and the Aryan group by hating people of color while Chase offered positive things, happily insulting the prisoners, and humiliating Steve. Provoking the Aryans into a fight, Chase used his martial skills, easily fighting off Smith's allies, knocking them out.

With only Smith left standing before him, Chase refused to tell his identity, stating that he would kill him without mercy, however, Smith refused to be provoked into fighting him, showing that there were security cameras in the area, blaming the Aryans, who were going to be seen as the initial aggressors, before a group of police officers arrived to arrest both of them while Chase told Smith that he was a bad father, terrifying Smith, becoming scared due to Christopher wanting to kill him, demanding the police to see Detective Sophie Song for information, frustrating Chase for his failed assassination.[1]

Hours later, Adrian Chase was freed by his team, regretting of how things had gotten worse in their mission.[1] Fearing that August Smith would give away information, Caspar Locke was recruited by A.R.G.U.S. to help Clemson Murn in order to prevent Smith from revealing information to Sophie Song and Larry Fitzgibbon by changing his fingerprints, discovering that Christopher was responsible for the death of Annie Sturphausen, a case that Locke ended by becoming the new captain of the Evergreen Police Department, replacing Miele.[2]
