Artemis was a daughter of Zeus, a sister of Ares, and a figure in Ancient Greek mythology who was the Goddess of the Hunt, animals, chastity, childbirth and the Moon.


Invasion of Earth[]

Artemis was one of the three Old Gods to assist Earth's resistance against Darkseid's invasion. She fought side by side with her father, Zeus and her half-brother, Ares. Together they successfully drove off the invaders and saved Earth.[1]

War of the Gods and death[]

When Zeus rallied the Old Gods against Ares to defend the Amazons, Artemis was among the many gods who fell at Ares' hands.[2]


Artemis was a fierce warrior and benevolent protector of Zeus's creations, disagreeing and ultimately siding with her father against Ares in defense of the Amazons. humanity, which lead him to slay her in the War of the Gods.[2]

Powers and Abilities[]


  • Old God physiology: As an Old God, Artemis was a phenomenally powerful being, though not quite as powerful as Zeus.[1][2]
    • Immortality: Artemis, due to her being an Old God, lived for thousands of years without aging, with her birth predating the creation of Mankind.
    • Nigh-invulnerability: Artemis was immune to death by normal superficial means. However, she could be slain by other gods, as evidenced when she and the other Old Gods were slain by Ares during the War of the Gods.[2]

  • Master combatant: Artemis was an extremely skilled and formidable combatant, with her taking down numerous Parademons in the invasion of Earth.[1]
  • Master archer: Artemis was a master archer, as told throughout mythology. During Darkseid's invasion, Artemis wielded an enchanted bow against numerous Parademons and the Apokoliptian battleships.[1]



  • Enchanted bow: During the first invasion of Earth, Artemis wielded a powerful bow capable of firing bolts of energy powerful enough to breach the hull of an Apokoliptian battleship.[citation needed]
  • Arrows of Artemis: Godly arrows with massive destructive capabilities which she used to take down an Apokoliptian ship. The arrows can also be fired exceptional distances, as later used by Hippolyta to send a message to Diana across the sea.[3]





Behind the Scenes[]

  • In Roman mythology, Artemis is named Diana, the namesake for Wonder Woman.
  • Artemis is usually depicted as the twin sister of Apollo, the God of the Sun in Greek Mythology, and holds the epithet of "Goddess of the Moon, the Hunt, Chastity, and Virginity".
