Ancient Times[]
During the time of King Atlan and prior to the Great Fall of Atlantis, the Kingdom of Necrus was established by Atlan's younger brother, Kordax in Antarctica, where he used Orichalcum to turn Necrus into a vast superpower, at the cost of emitting large levels of greenhouse gases which nearly caused a climatic meltdown. Kordax soon grew more power-hungry and forged the Black Trident led Necrus in a war against Atlantis, but was ultimately defeated. Using a blood spell, Atlan sealed Kordax away and the Kingdom of Necrus was frozen solid beneath the glaciers of Antarctica for millennia. Many records of Necrus' existence would be erased or lost to time and Necrus became known as the "Lost Kingdom" in Atlantean legend.

At some point, the director of A.R.G.U.S., Amanda Waller, ordered the creation of a Task Force X Black Site under the sea in Antarctica, where various dangerous metahumans began to be imprisoned.[1]
Escape of Teth-Adam[]
Teth-Adam escapes from Antarctica.
In 2022, Teth-Adam surrendered to the Justice Society and was imprisoned in Task Force X Black Site until later freed by Kent Nelson in an attempt for Adam to save Kahndaq from the demon Sabbac. Adam managed to escape the base and return to his champion form soon after.[1]
