Attack on Peacemaker[]
- "I gotta brush my teeth."
"Cool." - ―Annie Sturphausen and Christopher Smith[src]
In 2021, Sturphausen's Butterfly was drinking at O'Rourke's Sports Bar, where she shared looks with Peacemaker and shortly after they went to her apartment to have sex.[3] Sturphausen sat in her bed and read the files that Smith had about assassinating Senator Royland Goff, who was another infected Butterfly. When Smith discovered her, Sturphausen lied saying that she had not seen anything.[2] While Smith was distracted, she took a knife to attack him, surprising him and managing to scratch his skin.
Smith managed to withstand the cuts and tried to flee from Sturphausen. Sturphausen continued attacking him until Smith decided to jump out of the apartment window, falling several floors to the ground although he managed to survive the fall. Sturphausen followed him, rushing to him and jumping to kill him, only for Smith put on his Sonic Boom Helmet, which he activated to blow up Sturphausen's Butterfly.[3]
Sturphausen Case[]
- "August Smith, you are under arrest for the murder of Annie Sturphausen."
"I don't even know who the fuck that is!" - ―Sophie Song and Auggie Smith[src]
The Evergreen Police Department began an investigation into the murder of Sturphausen, and due to the car registration records and fingerprint record in their database they found Christopher’s father responsible, Auggie Smith, which led to his arrest, not knowing that in reality John Economos had hacked the police database and changed the car records and fingerprints to prevent Christopher from going to prison.[2]
Detective Sophie Song would find out the truth and try to dig deeper until she found out that Peacemaker was the real responsible of the murder of Sturphausen, getting an arrest warrant, but in an attempt to arrest him, Song and the entire Evergreen Police Department was infected by the Butterflies.[4] The Evergreen Police Department, acting under the direct control of the Butterflies, linked Peacemaker to her killing, reporting it to the press,[5] but it was eventually debunked by Leota Adebayo.[6]
