"This viscous amber fluid has been found on the premises of all the dead butterflies."
Clemson Murn[src]

The Amber Fluid, also called the Amber Goo, is the liquid milked by the Cow for the consumption of the Butterflies.

History[]

Distributed by the Butterflies[]

To ensure survival on Earth, the Butterflies initiated a covert plan to mass-produce Amber Fluid, taking control of a food processing company called Glan Tai Bottling Company, which served as the primary distribution hub for the fluid. The factory was equipped with a portal or containment system linked to a massive underground organism known as the Cow, the only known living source of Amber Fluid.

The Cow, a grotesque, whale-sized alien creature, was hidden beneath a remote farm called Coverdale Ranch, and operated under the control of high-ranking Butterfly agents embedded within human society, including law enforcement and government officials.[1]

Project Butterfly[]

After learning about the Butterfly invasion and their dependency on Amber Fluid, the black ops team 11th Street Kids, led by Clemson Murn, and later by Emilia Harcourt, launched a mission to destroy the Cow and eliminate the Butterflies' only supply line. The mission culminated in the assault on the Cow’s facility, during which the creature was killed and the production of Amber Fluid was permanently halted. Without it, the Butterfly population on Earth was left to starve, effectively ending the immediate alien threat.

With the destruction of the Cow and its Amber Fluid reserves, surviving Butterflies, including Goff, faced extinction. In a moment of mercy, Peacemaker allowed Goff to consume a small remaining portion of the fluid, despite knowing it was only a temporary reprieve. The existence of Amber Fluid and the Butterfly invasion was later covered up by government agencies, with the general public remaining unaware of how close Earth had come to infiltration.[2]

Biology[]

Amber Fluid is a viscous, glowing substance that serves as the primary sustenance source for the parasitic alien species known as the Butterflies. Though its full composition remains unknown to human science, the fluid is believed to be extraterrestrial in origin, brought to Earth by the Butterflies after the collapse of their homeworld.

The Butterflies require Amber Fluid to survive within their human hosts. It functions not only as nourishment but also appears to stabilize their presence inside a host body, allowing long-term symbiosis. Without regular consumption, a Butterfly-host pairing deteriorates rapidly, resulting in either the death of the Butterfly, the host, or both.
