"A year ago, Alan Kupperberg, the billonaire CEO of Waresoft, and the pop singer Vandalia, died in a plane crash. During their autopsies small insect-like creatures winged presumably extra-terrestrial, were found on their skulls."
Clemson Murn[src]

Alan Kupperberg was the billionaire CEO of Waresoft who was infected by a Butterfly in 2020.

Biography[]

At some point, his body was taken over by a Butterfly. In 2020 he flew on a plane with pop singer Vandalia, who was also possessed by a Butterfly. The plane they were flying on crashed, killing the two. The two were subjected to autopsies, leading to the discovery of small-winged creatures found within their skulls, which were presumed to be extraterrestrial.

This allowed A.R.G.U.S. to become aware of the Butterflies for the first time, prompting an investigation into other celebrities and individuals who were discovered to be also carrying these life forms. Over a year after Kupperberg's death, John Economos put together a presentation regarding the topic to help Clemson Murn explain to Peacemaker the details of Kupperberg's death and the growing Butterfly invasion.[1]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • Alan Kupperberg was a comics artist who has worked on several DC comic titles. He also had a brother named Paul Kupperberg who was a writer that worked on multiple DC Comics titles as well.
    • Paul Kupperberg has worked as a writer on a 50-issue comic series based around the Adrian Chase version of Vigilante as well as a miniseries based around Peacemaker.
