- Capture of Starro: While floating in space near Earth, the being Starro is captured by NASA astronauts. They bring it inside their space shuttle, where it releases several miniature copies of itself, which attach themselves to the astronauts and control their minds.[3]
- Starro is ultimately brought to Earth, where the United States government, hoping to weaponize it, makes a deal with the government of Corto Maltese to imprison and conduct experiments on it entitled "Project Starfish" in Jotunheim.[3]
