Would it be an origin story or is it set after Justice League? If After JL then who would be the main antagonist?
It might be a soft rebooted but other than that. Henry Cavill have got Man of Steel 2, Gal Gadot have gotten Wonder Woman 3, and Ben Affleck might have gotten his own solo prequel film. A Green Lantern movie has a pretty good story and the CGI/Visual Effects are great.
The EU part makes more sense now, since the DCU (the prime universe) has some loose connections to the DCEU that ain’t fully canon (hence the Extended Universe part). Kind of like how Star Wars takes some elements of the non-canon EU (Legends) and incorporates them into the prime universe.
According to storyboard artist Jay Oliva in August 2023, in addition to Snyder's intended "Darkseid quadrilogy" that would have ended up with what he described as "a Justice League Unlimited version" of the "Snyder-Verse", Warner Bros. planned to make a Flash trilogy, which was at different points of development, with directors like Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa being considered, that would have culminated in a "Flashpoint" film adaptation similar to Oliva's D.C. Universe Animated Original Movies (D.C.U.A.O.M.) film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013), which would have revealed that Professor Zoom had been behind the D.C.E.U.'s events, having been in the background during most of the trilogy while having some influence over the Justice League films' events, provoking the Flash into changing the universe in a way that results in everyone becoming enemies with those who used to be their allies, forcing the Flash to reboot the franchise in a way that could have introduced a new cast due to the studio feeling that the starring actors would wish to move on from their roles after a decade.
Well, with The Flash having been inspired by the "Flashpoint" story-arc and, albeit in a totally different fashion, totally revamping the D.C.E.U. into the D.C.U., coupled with how they mucked the franchise up and gave Snyder the finger, unfortunately, it looks like Warner got their wish, just much sooner than initially anticipated.

Shocking, isn't it?
In a perfect world the DCEU could have rivalled other cinematic universes like the MCU. But now that the universe has officially ended, I wanted to create potential viewings orders for anybody who is just getting into the DCEU. These are my own opinion and are just for fun.
Release Order:
- I won't go into too much depth here. Basically as it says watching each film in the order in which they are released
Chronological Order: (Somewhat similar to above)
- Wonder Woman
- WW84
- Man of Steel
- BVS: UE
- Suicide Squad
- ZSJL
- Aquaman
- Shazam
- Birds of Prey
- The Suicide Squad
- Peacemaker
- Black Adam
- Shazam 2
- The Flash
- Aquaman 2
- Blue Beetle
Now I'll go into smaller, more varied potential orders. Based more so on in universe connections.
Justice League Order:
- Man of Steel
- BVS: UE
- Wonder Woman
- ZSJL
- Aquaman
- The Flash
These are the most connected films to one another. With more consistent character appearences, connections and each film to an extent leads into the next. I.e ZSJL ends having set up Aquaman. The Flash ties heavily back to Man of Steel. In a sense this is the most skeletal viewing order. Missing out the most films. But in terms of an overarching narrative or crossover? It's not perfect but the best we've probably got overall.
Amanda Waller Order:
- Suicide Squad
- The Suicide Squad
- Peacemaker
- Black Adam
- Shazam 2
All these films are linked with the common thread of Amanda Waller and to a lesser extent Task Force X. Though you can easily miss out the latter due to its relatively minor connection.
Finally, you can always watch it for a specific character:
Harley Quinn:
- Suicide Squad
- Birds of Prey
- The Suicide Squad
Some films are outliers with few connections to the wider universe.
- WW84
- Birds of Prey
- Blue Beetle
- Aquaman 2
But those are just my opinion. Some of these could even be done for fun. Thank you regardless.
Jessica Cruz portrayed by Melissa Barrera.
Raven portrayed by Jenna Ortega.

This is obviously old news, and I'm kinda disappointed that the last time I posted something about this, it was deleted. However, since the D.C.U. is supposed to carry over some semblance of continuity and character elements from the D.C.E.U., I think it'd be interesting to see him return. Since the new franchise will take a different direction from the one that the D.C.E.U. took, though, something tells me that his journey for Anti-Life and battle against the Justice League will be restarted entirely from scratch. I for one am not surprised, but assuming that James Gunn and Peter Safran give their approval, it'll be good to know that the new universe will bring the League and their greatest arch-nemesis back.
Whole I'm sure this will be deleted, if anyone's interested, here's the link to my "review" for the film.
Lemme know what you think if any of you ever read it. (Here, of course). Otherwise, R.I.P. the D.C. Extended Universe (June 14th, 2013 to December 21st, 2023).

What’s your unpopular DCEU opinion(s)!
Now that the DCEU is over, what is the best and worst part of every DCEU film in your opinion?
What's your favorite and least favorite film of this universe? Also, what is your favorite scene from this universe?
R.I.P. (June 14th, 2013 to December 22nd, 2023).
His works are often based upon themes that explore the conflicts between intelligent machinery, Humanity, and/or nature, the dangers of corporate greed, strong female characters, and a romance subplot. Some of those characters suffer from emotionally intense and dramatic environments in the sea wilderness, most notably in The Abyss (1989) and Titanic (1997), while The Terminator series amplified technology as an enemy that could potentially lead to Humanity's devastation, and the Avatar films similarly view tribal people as an honest group, whereas a "technologically advanced imperial culture is fundamentally evil", as he once put it. After watching the 4K 3D limited re-release of Titanic earlier this year, and given how much I've come to enjoy the D.C. Extended Universe and how open-minded I am about the upcoming D.C.U., I just thought I'd share this idea that just popped into my mind with all of you.
The test screenings say the movie will be terrible and the last seven DCEU theatrical films bombed at the box office. There have already been three DC films this year and the only one in 2024 is the Joker sequel. I think Aquaman 2 should be delayed so they can make it a better film. The first Aquaman was really good and it would be a shame if Aquaman 2 grosses 350 million, had mixed reviews and costs the studio more money. They should delay the film a little longer.
So, I thought to myself "What if Snyder was able to complete his vision, they didn't try to go for a moody and broody tone that didn't work, WB didn't ruin everything, each member of the trinity got a trilogy, Shazam and Black Adam actually had a face-off, and we were still able to get James Gunn's DCU afterwards?" And so I think I did it. Don't judge me lol.
Man of Steel (2013) - Pretty much the same movie but Clark actually tries to save people and doesn't kill Zod.
Batman: Gotham Knight (2014) - Batman fights off Deadshot and Killer Croc with the help of the newest Robin, Tim Drake, and Dick Grayson who just became Nightwing a few months ago. Sets up Suicide Squad.
Wonder Woman (2014) - Again, overall the same movie except that this time Ares doesn't appear to ruin the message of the movie.
The Flash (2015) - Just a simple Flash movie of him fighting Mirror Master and Captain Boomerang, which also introduces Cyborg. Also sets up Suicide Squad.
Man of Krypton (2015) - Clark finds Kara, and together with Batman they take on Lex Luthor and Parasite.
Green Lantern: In Brightest Day (2016) - The Green Lantern Corps face off against Sinestro who went rogue and founded the Sinestro Corps.
Aquaman (2016) - Again, overall same movie overall except that Aquaman isn't famous and Aquaman and Mera don't know each other.
Justice League Part One (2017) - Basically the Snyder Cut except Arthur isn't reluctant to stop Steppenwolf, and Barry actually explains what kind of bad things could happen if he runs faster than the speed of light.
Suicide Squad (2018) - Same movie except The Joker is not cringe and he is the main villain.
Man of Tomorrow (2018) - Clark and Kara face off against Brainiac and Lobo.
Wonder Woman Paradise (2018) - Diana fights Cheetah and meets Asteria, is set in the present day.
Shazam! (2019) - Same movie.
Batman: Justice Knight (2019) - Batman finds out Jason Todd is alive and fights against him and Ra's Al-Ghul with the help of Huntress and the GCPD. Dick goes off to do his own thing.
Teen Titans (2019) - Dick doing his own thing with the team, fighting against Deathstroke.
The Flash Lightning (2020) - Wally West and Reverse Flash are introduced.
Justice League Part Two (2020) - The Injustice League brings Darkseid to Earth, he kills Lois Lane and turns Superman into his pawn against his will.
Green Lantern: In Darkest Night (2020) - The only Green Lantern left is John Stewart, but there is another green power ring, which he must give to someone, anyone who might help, who ends up being Kyle Rayner.
Batman: Final Knight (2021) - Batman forms the Insurgency to try and fight off Darkseid, Superman and the Regime. Several members of the Bat-Family, the Justice League, the Suicide Squad, the Teen Titans and the Shazamily die.
Justice League Part Three (2021) - All hope is lost, except for the fact that Flash is able to go back in time and warn Bruce to save Lois so the Knightmare future doesn't happen. Bruce sacrifices himself to save Lois, and all the other heroes manage to defeat Darkseid and the Injustice League. Bruce and Lois do NOT have a kid.
The Suicide Squad (2021) - Same movie.
Peacemaker Season 1 (2022) - Same show, only adding a mention to Black Canary when they mention Green Arrow.
Black Adam (2022) - Same movie, except that instead of Amanda Waller having control over Superman for no reason, Shazam appears willingly to talk to the old champion. Also the kid is not annoying, and there are mentions to Jay Garrick and Alan Scott.
Wonder Woman Historia (2022) - Diana learns more about the Amazons and fights off Giganta.
Shazam! Black Adam (2022) - The archenemies finally clash, and Shazam gets help from Superman. But right before Shazam lands the killing blow on Black Adam, Superman stops him, and he realizes that the people of Kahndaq also need a champion and they care about him, so he lets him live, but doesn't offer him a place in the Shazamily.
Green Lantern's Light (2023) - The Green Lantern Corps and the Blue Lantern Corps teaming up against the Sinestro Corps and the Red Lantern Corps.
Blue Beetle (2023) - Haven't watched the actual movie yet but from what I've heard it's actually pretty good and it's pretty disconnected from the rest, so the same movie but with no mentions of Batman.
The Flashpoint Paradox (2023) - Barry still struggles to accept everything that happened with Darkseid and with the fact that Bruce sacrificed himself, but at one point he discovers that he can travel through time, and the first thing he does is prevent Reverse Flash from killing his mother, just to test what could happen. What happens is that he comes back to a dystopian present where Zod arrived 10 years later than in the original timeline, and most metahumans are dead, were never born, or never got their powers. However he finds a resistance that's based of Lex Luthor, Batman, Supergirl, Hal Jordan, Green Arrow, Stargirl, Raven and Robotman. Zod and the resistance have been looking for Superman for a while, but they haven't been able to find him. Flash doesn't give up on this new timeline, and convinces the team that they need to fight Zod to save Earth from being Kryptoformed, and so they do it. The fight goes horribly wrong, until Superman finally appears. He was sucking power from the Sun for a while, after a fight he had with Lex a few years back, and basically became like Superman from DC One Million. However, they still lose the fight, as it turns out that Reverse Flash was behind all of it, trying to make Barry's life even more miserable by making him see what preventing Nora's murder would cause. Here we get the plot twist that the Batman of this timeline isn't actually Bruce, but Thomas Wayne, as Bruce died when he was a child, making Barry realize that some things are just meant to happen, some problems are not meant to be solved. So, in order to prevent destruction from happening, Barry goes back in time once more and prevents himself from preventing the murder of Nora. Barry then goes back to the original DCEU, finally accepting the deaths of Nora and Bruce, and ending the DCEU for good.
And the next year, James Gunn's DCU would kickstart with Creature Commandos, and the rest is history.
