Is the Batman in the DCEU. The wiki says it might but the casting of Gordon makes it seem like it isn't. Is there any confirmation on whether or not it's in the DCEU
If they could make the Batman part of the dceu and just remove justice league, then there wouldn’t be a problem
It's a wonderful Idea in my opinion, but there would only be Batman and that would give me nostalgia of the Dark Knight Series which I miss.
Plus If they did that then they'll have to explain what happened to the rest of the League in fiction or it'll be a Cliffhanger.
Sources have currently described the film as a "complete reboot" of the character, but over the last few years, Matt Reeves keeps insisting its within the DC Extended Universe and will be set before Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, however oddly.
The film's script and draft so far has no ties to any of the DCEU movies, which is why sources are saying its a reboot. Some say this film will go to DC Black where Joker (2019) released with Todd Phillips.
However this is yet to be seen, the films teaser should come out in 2020, so we'll hopefully get some news, by teaser, probably it will be shown at SDCC 2020.
Hope this helps all.
What Matt Reeves said is tricky. He pretty clearly doesn't care about the DCEU. He said "the DC Universe", which means everything and nothing. To him, "DC Universe" means "everything DC, not necessarily shared universes and won't necessarily connect to my project". Warner Bros is still throwing darts at a board with DC properties since Josstice League, they will greenlight ANYTHING that doesn't remind critics of Snyder (sadly). That includes artsy shit like Joker and a potential Batman trilogy with Nolan-like prestige that Matt Reeves could provide them.
Matt Reeves might not care but Warner Bros. does. They want it in certain places.
Again I said it before, but Matt Reeves is probably saying its in the DCEU.. because.. WB has told him too, if he actually told the truth, WB will just get rid of him.
Thats how the filming industry works, Executives can tell film directors to lie, so they don't get fired.
"Thats how the filming industry works, Executives can tell film directors to lie, so they don't get fired."
I agree. Producers can lie themselves too, glaring example with the reshoots of JL 'sticking to the tone of Snyder'... Even Ben Affleck had to lie. Still painful to think about this mess.
Anyway, DCEU Gotham won't have a Batman for a long time...
To be honest, it sounds so baised, but I think this Snyder cut needs to release. Not many people like Zack Snyder's work for the DCEU, but I do. Was a very unqiue take on these characters and putting them in real world situations. I think the cut of JL would really help and improve things, said it would 3 hours in total.
And yeah.. it is how the industry works, the first time I've seen a production team go against a companies wishes was the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog film. They had to change the design and improve the films script. Paramount would be so against this, but probably went ahead to get the cash.
I've been onboard with what Snyder does since day one. I just think detractors are more vocal by way of oversaturating social media, Youtube and blogs. General audiences have less problems with Snyder, nowhere near as obsessive whereas the others play whack-a-mole with his works and fans. If Man of Steel had come out in a world without Marvel Cinematic Universe to fanaticize legions of the aforementioned media parasites, Snyder's DC movies would've had less of a rough time.
Its likely yes, it would be less rough, the problem is, people are so up MCU'S asses and I just got sick of it.
What do you think?
