Man of Steel:
Good: Henry Cavill as Superman
Bad: Superman killing Zod
Batman v Superman:
Good: The Batman portion of the story
Bad: The Knightmare subplot that convolutes the film and stops it cold
Suicide Squad (2016):
Good: Good casting for main characters
Bad: Weak main villain and ending
Wonder Woman:
Good: The first 2/3 of the movie with a great plot and cinematography
Bad: The final 1/3 of the movie with a underwhelming villains and conclusion
Justice League (2017):
Good: Good performances by Affleck and Gadot (considering the material they had to work with)
Bad: Terrible CGI
Aquaman:
Good: Great pacing, CGI and worldbuilding
Bad: Amber Heard
Shazam:
Good: Pacing and character development
Bad: Tone at times got too close to that of a kids movie
Birds of Prey:
Good: R rated violence
Bad: The overtly misandrist plot and themes
WW 1984:
Good: A good performance by Gal Gadot as Diana
Bad: Diana becoming a rapist
Zack Snyder's Justice League:
Good: The epic size and scale of the film enabling more character development
Bad: That awful song sung by those Nordic women after Aquaman leaves their village
The Suicide Squad:
Good: The humour, character building and pacing
Bad: I felt that Starro wasn't exactly a villain, he was a captive who then fought out of self defence
Black Adam:
Good: Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate
Bad: Bringing back Henry Cavill to film a cameo hinting at a sequel including him only to fire him a month later (dick move by the studio)
I would hope that they will use the Snyder Cut as the springboard for future DCEU projects, a kind of "soft-reboot". It is clear that the overwhelming majority of consumers preferred this version. Production companies can't ignore it, that would be leaving money on the table.
I hope it is as a full directors cut movie, not a six-part miniseries.
This will be very interesting. I hope it is as a full directors cut movie, not a six-part miniseries.

Yes we would. Years back there was a debate about the page for James Gordon which was proposed to be deleted more than once due to limited confirmation that the character would exist in the DCEU. In the end the page was kept and ultimately the character was later used.
Yes, you have accurately cited the wiki policy on canon and its good that users are putting forethought into this. However, it's far too early to tell what will happen. All the speculation that the Snyder cut will be diametrically different and directly contradict existing movies is just an assumption. Until the cut is released we won't know how this will affect canon.

I concur, that would be a much better way.
My major concern is whether a quorum could be reached. By that I mean this discussion is between about a dozen users who feel really strongly about the issue, hundreds of others either don't know or don't care. If we have a vote and the result is 6 users one way and five users the other (for example) I don't feel the result will be credible.
I urge users to avoid making personal attacks during these sort of disputes, it is extremely counterproductive. Judge contributions, not contributors.
As a whole, the DCEU has gone fine so far IMO (and getting better). The one thing that could've been done better was BvS DOJ which was a pretty average film (though nowhere near as bad as all the hatchet job reviews it got). The Batman half of the film was really good, but the Superman half was lame.
I agree, a new discussion needs to take place rather than plugging in to an old one. As a stand alone thread it will be easier to determine if there is a consensus for changing or not.
Just unsubstantiated rumour mongering, pay no attention.
Stand alone films are fine in my books. Looking at the MCU now, the endless crossovers (which once upon a time were really cool) are now dominating the stories themselves and becoming too confusing for casual audiences. A term I've started to hear recently is "all Marvelled out" referring to peoples fatigue.
Offering a more distilled product (as stand alone films are) is a great way to counter this. Wonder Woman was a great example of how this can be done well. It was an awesome film, yet still pertinent to the wider DCEU without relying on the cruder methods of pointless cameos and easter eggs being thrown in just for the sake of it.

Warner Bros. is going to double down on the elements of the DCEU that gain the most popularity and deemphasize the elements with the least.
That is essentially what Disney did. Iron Man and Captain America were pushed to the forefront while Hulk will not likely be getting a sequel any time soon (if ever).
I agree, one thread is far more logical.
I would like to see Penguin in the DCEU.

Bane wasn't played by a Latin-American in either Batman & Robin (1997) or The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and it drew no comment of "cultural appropriation". Can't see why it would be any different in the future.
